Advisory Board

Our Advisory Board members are local cybersecurity leaders from business and academia. We are thrilled to have such esteemed individuals join the Advisory Board.

Their valuable expertise will help advance our chapter, improve our ability to assist the chapter and strengthen overall cybersecurity in the LA metro area.

Andrew Bereczky

Chief Information Security officer (CISO)

Andrew Bereczky has been Chief Information Security officer (CISO) at the Automobile Club of Southern
California since February 2016. In this role he’s responsible for creating a culture of enablement and
leverage, while managing the organization’s information security risk posture.

Prior to this role Andrew provided strategic consulting services to a multitude of national companies and
served as the SVP & CIO of Zenith Education Group.

As global CIO with Alorica, in the BPO space, he supported multiple mergers and acquisitions while
driving the technology team to achieve corporate recognition by Gartner (Global Magic Quadrant
listing), win the Information Week Top 500 Technology innovator award in years 2011 & 2012 (for
Global Analytics & CRM), along with IDC Marketspace Major Player recognition in 2013.

Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and earned his MBA from Cal State
Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles, CA. Always working to give back to the community, Andrew supports a
multitude of efforts and regularly joins with others to contribute to SIM, Evanta, and other thought
leadership groups.

Anna Carlin

Instructor at Fullerton College

Anna Carlin, CISA, is a CIS Department Coordinator and Instructor at Fullerton College.

Ms. Carlin teaches Cyber Security, Network Security, Ethical Hacking,  and Introduction to Information Systems in the Business and CIS Division.

Ms. Carlin is also the Executive Director of the Hornet Security Education Center to educate students and the surrounding community on safe computing practices.

Anna has over 15 years of experience in IT audit, software development, and operations management.   Anna previously served on the board and chaired the Academic Relations Committee for the Los Angeles Chapter of ISACA.

Jason Loomis

Chief Information Security Officer for Freshworks. Freshworks (FRSH)

Jason Loomis is the Chief Information Security Officer for Freshworks. Freshworks (FRSH) is a global provider of SaaS customer engagement solutions for IT, customer service, sales, marketers, and HR. Jason is also a cybersecurity board advisor for Principia Growth, a mid-to-late stage growth investment firm. He has a BS in MIS from the University of San Francisco and an MBA from the University of Oregon. Jason is CISSP, CISM, CISA, multiple GIAC, and SCUBA certified. No, really, he does SCUBA – it's the most exciting and relatable of his certifications, for sure.

While cybersecurity may be his chosen career path, his passion, drive, and intellectual curiosity are in leadership, organizational decision-making, and giving to those who have less through national and international disaster relief. He also frequently argues the case with himself that it's these very interests that make him a better cybersecurity practitioner… It's not entirely clear who is winning that argument or why he bothers arguing with such a frustrating individual.

In his spare time, and because he lives in Los Angeles and there is a city ordinance that every resident must have a podcast, he is co-host of a podcast called F-Sides (fsides.com) about the human side of cybersecurity. He's also an avid snowboarder, into beach volleyball and fitness, and just picked up the sport of "attempting to surf" last year.
